Episode I Walkthrough
The following is a full walkthrough for Buddy Knavery Episode I: The Killer Riffs. In order to avoid spoiling you more than you intended, you will need to click on each individual step to reveal the associated hint. Enjoy!
Show Step 1
Open the welcome package on the table to receive Hawaiian shirt and sandals.
Show Step 2
Go over to the bookcase and pick up the coffee mug, then examine the bowling trophy. Use the coffee mug with the water cooler to create a mug of water.
Show Step 3
Talk to Captain Wells about the bowling trophy, then say you live for bowling. He'll give you a bowling pass. Exit the office and go to Hank's Bowling Emporium.
Show Step 4
Give the bowling pass to Hank, who will give you a pair of bowling shoes. Pick up a bowling ball from the rack and take the steps down to the lanes.
Show Step 5
Use the bowling shoes, then use the bowling ball with the bowling lane. The pin setter will jam. Use the emergency button on the ball return to summon Hank. Now that Hank is preoccupied, return to the lobby and pick up the designer bowling shoes from the shoe rack.
Show Step 6
Go to the arcade to the right of the lobby and open the coin return for the "Double Bogey" arcade. You'll receive a token. Use the token repeatedly on the Krazy Klaw (the token reappears in the coin return after each use) until you win two prizes: a retro outfit and a Magic Iris packet. Claim both prizes by opening the prize slot.
Show Step 7
Talk to Captain Wells about Rodney Hodges. He'll reveal the location of the Electric Den. Head to the Electric Den, but you won't be able to enter until you use the retro outfit and the designer bowling shoes.
Show Step 8
Once in the Electric Den, enter the bathroom to the left. Examine the trash bin to find a broken hair dryer.
Show Step 9
Open the emergency door to the left, then after Buddy warns of sounding the alarm, open it again to access the backstage lounge.
Show Step 10
Once in the backstage lounge, pick up the orange extension cord. Then examine the empty glass on the coffee table.
Show Step 11
Talk to Lauren about her empty glass, then return to the Den entrance and request a Caribbean Duck Swatter from Rodney.
Show Step 12
Return to the backstage lounge and give the Duck Swatter to Lauren. Now that she's a friend, ask her what it's like to be in a band, then ask if it's not as fun as it looks. She'll mention the name Barry McClanahan.
Show Step 13
Use the Magic Iris packet with the mug of water, then give the Magic Iris bouquet to Lauren. Then ask her where McClanahan is (with the "control freak" option) to reveal a new location. Exit the Electric Den and go to McClanahan's Estate.
Show Step 14
Use the standard (non-retro) suit, then use the front door. Dialogue will ensue and Buddy will eventually persuade McClanahan to let him in.
Show Step 15
Once McClanahan steps away, use the music box on the desk to play a jingle.
Show Step 16
Use the electrical cord with the broken hair dryer. Use the hair dryer with the electrical outlet, then use the hair dryer with the aquarium. You'll then be able to pick up the tank ornament and get the key hidden inside.
Show Step 17
Go up the stairs to the bedroom and use the key to open the armoire. Then use the musical device, which Buddy will use to play the song heard on the music box. Mayor Knight is shown to be hidden in a secret room.
Show Step 18
Endgame sequences will follow with Mayor Knight, Barry McClanahan, and Captain Wells.
